David Prouty High School graduates 129

SPENCER - One hundred twenty-nine members of the David Prouty Class of 2010 entered the packed gymnasium to the solemn strains of “Pomp and Circumstance,” at 6 p.m. on June 4. The same solemn strains accompanied their recession two hours later, but the graduates appeared to be marching to a livelier drummer.

Rise ‘n’ Shine Diner under
new ownership

EAST BROOKFIELD – When someone loves what they do for a living, it shows. Case in point, Herm Reider, the cook at and new owner of the Rise ‘n’ Shine Diner at 237 West Main St. (on Route 9). While cooking has always been an interest for Reider, he didn’t initially pursue it as a career.

Road race, fireworks to headline Independence Day celebration

EAST BROOKFIELD - East Brookfield’s Independence Day celebration will be held this year on Friday and Saturday, July 9 and 10.. This town traditionally pulls out all of the stops in its celebration of this holiday; also traditionally, the observance takes place after the real July 4th holiday.
